So Quinn has proposed a 1% income tax increase to go towards education. Yet every time extra money's been earmarked for schools in the past, other money has been removed. This time will be no different:
(ISP Spokesman) Monken said later that if the legislature approves the 1 percentage point increase in the state income tax Quinn has requested for education, some funds could be freed up for other agencies.I've had people tell me it should be more. So their idea is to give MORE money to a body that has shown they can't manage what they have? Would someone please explain to me the logic behind that?
Update: Florida has the right idea.
